Medical supply scale-up initiative

What we do

Pharmacies across Vienna have been generous in providing surplus and soon-to-expire goods to us. Through the Austria-Ukraine medical supply scale up initiative we are aiming to expand and further formalize these relationships and efforts.

Through our network of volunteers and warehouse in Vienna, we are busy collecting, sorting, and shipping materials non-stop.

Our work is focused on three pillars:

Medical

Delivering medicine, medical equipment, and sanitary supplies to civilian and military partner hospitals.

Mothers

Assembling and sending care packages to the homes of war widows and their children.

Medevacs

Sourcing, buying, registering and delivering front-line medical evacuation vehicles.

How we do it

We believe that in the age of the smartphone, there’s no excuse for an organization to not report on where its donations land. While we can’t show every torniquet on every wounded soldier, we can trace the journey of every last bandage from Vienna to its destination hospital in Ukraine.

Here’s how:

Donate

Creating relationships with pharmacies, hospitals, doctors, veterinary clinics and agreeing on communication and frequency of pickup.

Pick up

We dispatch our network of Austrian volunteers to pick up based on location, availability, and vehicle type. Deliveries are brought to our warehouse in Vienna.

Sort + Pack

Deliveries are sorted by Austrian and Ukrainian trained medical volunteers and sorted by expiration date and repackaged.

Match

Requests are fielded on an ongoing basis from our Ukrainian partner hospitals, and we prepare shipments according to need.

Deliver

Our volunteers and pro bono logistics partners deliver the shipments together with documentation to the hospitals.

Report

The hospitals provide written and photographic evidence of delivery which is shared back to the donor.
